Banner prices compared: 11 printers and stores, October 2026
We priced the same 13 oz vinyl banners in three sizes at 11 online printers and retail stores on one day. The cheapest 3 x 6 ft banner was $30.84 and the most expensive $85.05, and finishing explained most of the gap.
How much should a vinyl banner cost, and does it matter where you order it? To find out, we priced the same product, a single-sided 13 oz vinyl banner, in the three best-selling shapes (2 x 4, 3 x 6 and 4 x 8 ft) at eleven online printers and retail stores on a single day, October 26, 2026. We also recorded five more sizes and step-and-repeat backdrops at the printers that offered them.

Key findings
- The cheapest 3 x 6 ft banner was $30.84; the most expensive was $85.05. That's a spread of 2.8 times for nominally the same product.
- Finishing makes cheap quotes hard to compare. The four cheapest 3 x 6 ft prices ($30.84 to $39.50) were within $9 of each other, but two included grommets and two didn't. Adding UPrinting's hem-and-grommet option takes its $39.50 to $47.84.
- Automatic "sales" are the norm. Three of the big names showed an automatic discount (40%, 25% and 20%), so the struck-through "regular" price is mostly an anchor.
- Small banners cost the most per square foot. The median 2 x 4 ft banner was $2.58 per square foot; the median 4 x 8 ft was $2.14 and the median 10 x 10 ft $2.06.
- Retail stores are convenient, not cheap. Staples' 3 x 6 ft scrim vinyl banner was $85.05, more than double the online median, but it can be picked up the same day.
- Not every printer sells banners. Sticker Mule, known for stickers, sells posters and yard signs but no banners. Walmart Photo sells satin and polypropylene banners, not vinyl.

Methodology
- Date: all prices were recorded on October 26, 2026 (US Mountain time), in one session per seller.
- Product: single-sided banner in each seller's standard vinyl, 13 oz where the seller states a weight, quantity 1. Where a seller didn't state the weight, we recorded its default vinyl and noted it.
- Price recorded: the price displayed on the seller's own product page or configurator for that configuration. We did not enter coupon codes, join loyalty programs or sign in. Where a site applied a sale automatically, we recorded the sale price and the regular price.
- Excluded: shipping, tax, rush production, design services and accessories.
- Finishing: recorded as each seller's default. We did not add finishing to equalize prices in the main table, because buyers see the default price; the finishing column shows what's included. Where we priced add-ons (UPrinting, Vistaprint, Staples), we list them.
- Sizes: where a seller lists width x height, we converted to height x width. Where a standard size wasn't offered, we say so and give the nearest size.
- Who's included: large US online banner printers, a sign-focused printer, and the retail photo and office stores people most often search for. We are not paid by any of them for inclusion; see our affiliate disclosure.
- Limits: prices change often, sometimes daily. Sale percentages vary. Shipping costs depend on ZIP code. Treat this as a dated snapshot, not a live quote.
What it means for buyers
- Compare finished prices. UPrinting's $39.50 3 x 6 ft banner has no hem or grommets; with both it was $47.84, while 1 Day Banner's $30.84 included them. Add $4 to $8 for finishing where it's extra before you compare.
- Ignore the "regular" price. Compare what you'd pay today.
- Check shipping before you choose. Free shipping usually starts at $99 or $100. On a single small banner, shipping can decide the winner.
- Pay for speed only when you need it. Store pickup and next-day production cost more; plan two weeks ahead for events.
- Choose size by reading distance, not price. At $2 to $2.60 a square foot, the step from 3 x 6 to 4 x 8 ft cost about $29 at the median, often money well spent for a roadside banner.

Does Sticker Mule sell banners?
Not when we checked on October 26, 2026. Its catalog included posters, yard signs, wall and floor graphics, but no banners.
